about
Team Brady is the official website for Tom Brady’s E1 Series racing team, dedicated to high-speed, lightweight electric boats. I joined the design team to help refine the visual system, finish the design for some key sections, and create visual assets under tight deadlines for a project seen by thousands of fans worldwide.

challenges & how we solved them

Rapid design with high-end quality

Probably, the main challenge of the project was the timeline and on-fly changes that we had to make to the final deliverables. I absolutley loved the rythm of the  process because it made me mobilize my design abilities and streamline the UI work.
My involvement came together literally within a couple of days. One of my bosses asked if I’d like to join a small yet high-profile project with extremely tight deadlines, but one that could be seen by thousands of people. Since I’m an adventurous person who loves variety in my work, I said yes immediately. Just a few days later, I was on the onboarding call, planning how to make an effective contribution to our team.

Among my key tasks were applying consistent color and spacing variables to polish the visual appearance, designing several key sections based on my senior designer’s concept, and bringing back my Photoshop skills to create visual assets
for the entire site. All of this happened within just a few intense days — and I can confidently say that while working on Team Brady, I fully immersed myself in the racing spirit.
Before this, I had worked as a solo lead designer on another project, so Team Brady, with its intense timeline, reminded me of my architecture background — when everything’s on fire, deadlines are tight, and postponing tasks simply isn’t an option. Still, after completing all design deliverables for this product, I can confidently say that product design brings me much more joy and fulfillment. My designs came to life within days or weeks, and working in a non-toxic environment with open communication between senior designers and stakeholders is something I value most here.
Managing designs in the extreme environment:

→  rapid onboarding and learning materials in advance
→  keeping proactive communication style to stay on the same page
Mobilizing creative force:

→  immediate actionable follow-up on the client feedback
→  stricktly following visual direction yet implementing visual hooks

Creating a super flexible news page

The Team Brady website itself is quite compact, so I was excited to take ownership of the News section. The iterative design process began, as usual, with gathering requirements, researching best practices, creating the concept, and then handing it off to development.
news and media recourses section
Although the section seems straightforward, I needed to anticipate several potential use cases that could appear in production. For example — what happens if an article doesn’t include media? What about video posts?
And how do we handle cover images with different aspect ratios? Designing the UI for this page meant not just presenting a single layout, but creating multiple screen variations illustrating each case and state.
Since I used existing design system elements from the homepage, my work was approved quickly and handed off to the engineering team right away.
Adding on the flexibility of the page:

→  counted in all the possible use cases
→  tested out the UI with existing media materials
Collaborative design:

→  working with devs almost always being on the call
→  quickly reacting to the changing feedback of the client
results
Although Team Brady was a short-term project, I’m truly glad I had the chance to contribute to the website for one of the leading teams in the E1 Series. Collaborating with Tom’s European team was a refreshing experience after several long-term, large-scale projects in my product design career.

During those weeks, I not only improved my ability to deliver high-quality design work quickly, but also felt a strong sense of connection with our team — since we were practically working in real time the entire way through.
